The leaves of winter

2009

The dry leaves of winter

Falling…falling…falling

Touching the dry land

Like lush love on parched lips.

A cold wind sweeps the land

Whirling leaves,dust, ..emotions..

Entering the closed walls of red brick houses

That hold a thousand secrets.

A thousand sighs, a thousand laughs..

A stolen glance of love

And some-long forgotten dreams

That whirl out with the wind.

I see the sun rising….

A golden globe in the sky

From the midst of the gray dullness

That passes off as the fog.

Does the cold rattle the bones?

Or is it just the tremor

Of dreams passing by

As time bides?
